This July Board of Review meeting is one of the two statutorily-required meetings held each year (the other is in December), for the purpose of correcting qualified errors involving property dimensions, size corrections, taxable status and errors of the property owner in submitting personal property statements, clerical errors and mutual mistakes of fact. Taxable status can include principal residence and qualified agricultural property, exemptions from local school operating taxes, poverty exemptions for principal residence and federally qualified health facilities which are totally property tax exempt.
Please note that property tax assessments cannot be heard or appealed at the July or December Board of Review meetings. These meetings are specifically required for the purpose of correcting and updating property tax records.
