MINUTES OF MARCH 20, 2010 ANNUAL MEETING OF ELECTORS, COMMUNITY SERVICE BUILDING, EASTPORT

Present:  Township electors fluctuated between 14-15 with one non-resident present.

1. Meeting was convened at 10:55 AM with Supervisor Parker acting as moderator.

2. Motion by Walworth to waive the reading of the minutes of March 21, 2009 was seconded and passed 14-0.  Motion by Walworth to approve the minutes of March 21, 2009 as prepared was seconded and passed 14-0.

3.  Salary Resolutions for offices of Supervisor, Clerk, Treasurer and Trustees were presented to the electors for their approval.  Motion by Walworth to waive reading of each Resolution was seconded by Wosek and passed 14-0.  There were no raises suggested for the 2010-2011 fiscal year.  Motion by Tomlinson to leave the annual salary of Clerk at $18,500 was seconded by Sell and passed 14-0.  Motion by Sell to leave the annual salary of Supervisor at $18,500 was seconded by Tomlinson and carried 14-0.  Motion by Judy Kruger to leave the annual salary of Treasurer at $21,000 was seconded by Sell and carried 14-0.  Motion by Scott to leave the annual salary of Trustee at $3600 was seconded by Martel and carried 14-0.

4.  Supervisor’s Comments:  Regarding Phragmites:  because of the amendment to the Ordinance, someone within 300 feet of phragmites must report it to the Township.  His message is if you have it or think you have it let us know!  Perhaps select representatives within a subdivision or group to keep in communication with the Board.  Gerry Sell recommends we promote it as a service for the resident not a punishment.  Walworth asked if those that were treated last year be sent letters letting them know.  Martel commented that we are only holding (phragmites) back. Tomlinson reiterated it is important to have treatment done by State-certified people with certified products.

5.  Elector topics:  EMS Director Ditlow spoke about the “File of Life” packets available for pick up here in the EMS office.  He also informed the public of a Health Fair and Blood Drive scheduled here on Wednesday June 23, 2010.

6.  With no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 11:25 AM
