ZONING
Torch Lake Township is a zoned community. Any new construction must comply with the ordinance. If you are planning on constructing a building or deck, give the Zoning Administrator a call at the Township Office, or e-mail the Zoning Administrator. We can help explain the procedures to you and tell you what information is needed to get your project started.

Medical Marijuana
ENFORCEMENT.
The Township has recently switched to a new system for enforcing the Zoning Ordinance. Instead of seeking an injunction from a court to correct a violation, we now will issue a notice of Municipal Civil Infraction. The violator is given a ticket, and deals with the District Court, who will assess fines, court costs and order compliance.
The Zoning Administrator is the enforcement officer. Contact the office to report or inquire about a possible violation.
